Beginner/Casual rides

If you are new to the sport, trying to get re-acquainted after a long hiatus , or simply enjoy a less stressful pace, there is a group ride just for you on Tuesdays in the late afternoon/evening.

Tuesday Casual Group Ride – all WW club members are welcome to join us.

Beginning March 31, 2026, at 6 pm (please be at ride location 10-15 min prior to 6 pm start). Be sure to have a spring checkup for your bike prior to your first ride. We will take a few minutes to talk about the rules of the road before we begin. Helmets and lights/reflectors are required!

Starting Locations:

March 31 thru June:  Berryville 7-11 at Kimble Road – 10176 Harry Byrd Hwy Berryville, VA 22611

July thru August:  White Post Restoration – 1 Old Car Drive- White Post, VA 22663

September:  Berryville 7-11 at Kimble Road – 10176 Harry Byrd Hwy Berryville, VA 22611

Routes:

Our route will initially be a 6-mile loop from Berryville’s 7-11 parking lot (use the link above). Over the course of the season, we have several options for these casual rides. This is a relatively flat and less traveled route. We will progress to an 18–24-mile ride as we get more comfortable with group rides in the beautiful countryside near Winchester. We may break into groups of  6 or so as different riders choose different distances and speeds.

Our average riding pace is 8-10 mph to 12-13 mph. We will stop for rest breaks and regrouping as needed.

Beginning July 7,  2026, we will ride from White Post Restoration in White Post. Please be at ride location 10-15 min prior to 6 pm start. This route has more beautiful scenery to enjoy! Here, too, there are shorter, flatter routes of about 6-9 miles, some gravel options, and longer, hillier routes of about 18-24 miles.

Beginning September 1, 2026, we will return to Berryville and ride at 5:30 pm for safety purposes.
